Also known as the definitive core exercise, this is also the most basic of them all. All you need is a yoga mat where you can plank, and voila! You can start warming up your body before starting on more tiring and rigorous routines. Planking needs you to hold your body in a straight line, using only your arms and toes as support. No movement is required.

Start by leaning your body back while bending your knees. Keep your back straight while holding out your arms and raising both your feet. As you get used to this position, try to make it a bit harder by extending your legs until your body forms a V shape.
